Take a trip to the Chelsea Community Fair, back to good old 1956!  These photographs come from the Ralph Guenther Collection that the Library is currently organizing and scanning.  These are quite the walk down memory lane.  In a lot of ways, the Community Fair is still the same–lots of carnival games, amusement park rides, and of course, plenty of fun!

Albert Cobo, a Detroit mayor, ran for governor in 1956. His campaign signs give us our only solid clue in dating these photographs.
