These activities were created in 2012 by Amber Kennedy, a student at University of Michigan studying history, with a secondary education certification in social studies and psychology. After researching the Chelsea school district curriculum, the Common Core and the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations for History and Social Studies, Amber developed activities and mini-lessons available for use by Chelsea-area educators. These activities reinforce fundamental educational concepts using local history materials from the Chelsea District Library. Many thanks to Amber for her excellent work.
Thanks to the Arts of Citizenship program at University of Michigan’s Ginsberg Center for their support.
